Frequently
Asked Questions
What
should I wear for color pictures?
Please try to coordinate your attire
from head to toe. If the weather is warm outside, you will probably not wear
shoes or socks, but feel free to bring them. If you want to wear shoes in the
pictures, please do not wear tennis shoes. Keep the tone of clothing the same.
Do not mix light and dark clothing and save patterns for accent items like
scarves and neckties. Solid colors work best, but avoid large or bold patterns
and bright colors, they draw attention away from the face. So in other words,
try to keep it simple. Long sleeve dresses and shirts are recommended, because
they draw attention away from the arms and help focus on the face.
What
should I wear for black and white pictures?
Children - Children look best in
denim overalls or a denim dress. The denim looks great painted blue! The
simpler it is, the better it looks in black and white pictures. Please feel
free to look at the picture gallery to get some ideas of what other kids have
worn. If you have a special outfit or dress feel free to bring it. I have old
vintage outfits that I can dress the children in, but it never hurts for the
parents to bring a couple of their favorite outfits.
Adults - Jeans and a white
button downs work best for adults, but kakhi and white will work also. Try not
to wear to many prints - it will look to busy. Remember that these are black
and white pictures - color does not really matter! Dark colors do not look
good, so please try to avoid black and navy. All other colors are fair game.
What
should I bring to the sitting?
Please
try to bring some props to make your portrait more personal. For example,
letter jackets, class rings, band instruments, sports equipment, stuffed
animals or even your pet. If you bring your pet, please make sure that someone
is there to take care of them.
Let's hope it gets good ones soon!
